WearItOut’s Journey: Upgrading to the Roland MO-180

With a background in software development, Jon began his career crafting digital experiences as an iOS developer. But the desire to make something tangible led him to create WearItOut—a brand dedicated to transforming creative ideas into physical products through techniques like laser cutting, engraving, 3D printing, and UV printing.
The First Leap into UV Printing
Jon’s journey into UV printing began with the Roland LEF2-200. “We took a bit of a gamble on the technology,” he says. “There was no solid plan, just a lot of hope in the potential.” That leap of faith quickly paid off. Curious about the next level, Jon and his team turned their attention to the Roland MO-180. Despite its smaller bed size, the MO-180 offered twice the speed in their setup, allowing them to significantly boost productivity.
“The changes have been night and day,” Jon explains. “The vacuum bed means quicker setup and fewer print errors, especially with delicate materials. And the EUV5 inks, they’ve completely transformed our output—richer colours, more vivid prints, and surprisingly, lower running costs. The upgrade was worth it for the inks alone.”

“Our setup isn’t the easiest,” Jon admits. “The MO-180 is heavier than the LEF2-200, and our workspace is tight. But the team planned everything down to the last detail—even before arriving.” On the day, they handled the transition with care and precision, removing the old machine and installing the new one with professionalism and patience.
“We couldn’t have done it without them. They also customised our training, skipping the basics we already knew and focusing on the new features that mattered most to us.”
