Celebrating 15 Years at Signmaster: Jay’s Remarkable Journey

In today’s world, reaching a 15-year milestone with the same company is a truly remarkable achievement. It is something we see far less frequently than we once did, which is exactly why, as a business, we were so keen to recognise this moment and celebrate it properly with Jay and the wider Signmaster team

For many people, Jay is Signmaster. We regularly speak to customers who purchased machines many years ago and their first question is often, “Is Jay still there?” They are always delighted to hear that he is.

From my perspective as the owner of Signmaster, Jay holds a particularly special place in the business. He is the only remaining member of staff from when Sam and I acquired the company in 2017. Staff come and go for many reasons, but from the very first conversation we had with Jay during that transition, it was clear he was someone we could trust—someone who would work alongside us to help implement the changes we knew were necessary.

Quite simply,Jay is an employer’s dream. He is hardworking, passionate about all things Signmaster, deeply trustworthy, and—most importantly—a genuinely good human being.

Of course, no celebration of Jay would be complete without sharing a few things you might not know about him. Jay is famously obsessed with flapjacks. It has become such a running joke in the office that he once asked for the charity flapjack donation box to be removed, as he was buying them so frequently and had absolutely no willpower to say no. Unsurprisingly, the cake we bought to mark his 15 years was a tower of flapjacks.

Jay is also an entertaining travel companion. If he’s a passenger, staying awake is not his strong point. On planes especially, he is often fast asleep before we’ve even taken off. 💤💤

Jokes aside, no one can question Jay’s loyalty or commitment. The way he embraced Sam and me when we took over the business, and the growth we have seen from him since, has been exceptional. He progressed from working solo in Hardware Sales, to becoming Hardware Manager with a team of two salespeople, and now to Sales Director—overseeing both the Hardware and Ink & Media departments.

And we very much hope that this is not the end of his journey. We fully expect Jay to continue developing with us and, if we are being honest, we would love to see him become Managing Director of Signmaster one day.

Jay, thank you for 15 years of dedication, loyalty, and hard work. Signmaster simply would not be what it is today without you.

Love From

Everyone at Signmaster
