When a client comes to you asking for a banner you need to weigh up whether PVC or mesh is better suited to meet their requirements. Both have their advantages but which one you choose to use depends on what the client intends to do with it.

There are several factors that affect which digital print media you opt for – size, location, purpose, cost. By knowing the answers to these you can help your customers make better and more informed decisions.

Mesh Banners

PVC mesh banners are printed banners with small holes which allow air to flow through, making them ideal for outdoor advertising. The print quality is great, and they are strong, durable and long-lasting. Plus, they come in a wide range of shapes and sizes.

They also have two big advantages over PVC banners:

  • They don’t block out light – The tiny holes in the banner allow light to pass through which make them an ideal choice for advertising over a window or on scaffolding.

  • They’re wind resistant – Again, the holes allow wind to pass through, so they don’t flap or get torn down. They’re particularly advantageous in windy areas and for a range of outdoor uses.

PVC Banners

PVC banners have many similar qualities to mesh banners – they boast excellent printing quality, are highly durable, long-lasting and strong.

They’re very adaptable, come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

PVC banners are known for their resilience and are ideal for high-impact environments such as construction sites. They can withstand tough weather and can remain in-situ for a significant length of time. While both banners exhibit many of the same qualities, mesh banners may be a better option if you’re in a windy location, such as scaffolding. Meanwhile, PVC banners are the preferred choice if you wish to display high-quality graphics or images.

On the other hand, mesh banners are lightweight and easy to store and transport. PVC banners are heavier which can be more time-consuming to set up and pack away.

How To Choose

Understanding your customer needs and explaining the advantages of each type of banner will give you the information required to offer them the right product. In addition, giving them excellent and personalised customer service at point of sale will build loyalty and be beneficial for your business in the long run.
