2022 has been an exciting year for Sign and Graphics, with the Veloblade Nexus taking the finishing scene by storm, Roland launching the new SG3 and VG3 series machines and Mimaki introducing the new 330 series to their range.
All the machines are aimed at improving the user experience by improving workflows and facilitating improved production capacity.
Let’s take a closer look…
The Vivid Veloblade Nexus has seen success in its incredible value for money. It is supplied fully loaded, with a high spec vs its cost-effective price point. It enables customers to handle any finishing demands that they may need to tackle. Standard spec includes direct cutting tool, kiss cutting tool, v-cut head, oscillating head, CNC router and creasing wheels as well as having a PC and software included. It is fitted with a CCD camera enabling it to support print and cutting demands. The rolling conveyor can be used for either feeding roll media in conjunction with the roll handling module (included as standard), but can also be used to feed sheet material larger than the bed size. We have seen great conversion from demonstrations and really this machine can only be truly appreciated when you physically stand in front of it and put it through its paces in the showroom.

Roland have truly listened to the end user and updated what has already been a very successful series of machines. The NEW SG and VG3 series have a new chassis, new media winder system, intuitive touchscreen control panel, new media guides, wider pinch rollers, new sheet cut position and perforated sheet cut function. The new series of machines also sport a new automatic self-calibration, which enables even the most in-experienced user to have optimised print quality in a little as a few clicks on the menu. These settings can then be saved as pre-sets going forward, saving the user time. Although it isn’t providing enhanced print speeds, all the marginal gains on usability, make an overall saving on time and waste. All in all, a machine that has been renowned for being easy to use, has just become even easier.
The Mimaki 330
The new Mimaki 330 is the new generation production work-horses from Mimaki. Available as an integrated print and cut machine or print only machine, with two size options, 54 and 64”, designed with production in mind. The new 330 series machines are capable of holding three different medias simultaneously at the back for quick media changing of frequently used medias, they are also fitted with a bulk-ink system as standard, and even sport an XY trimmer at the front, so prints are quickly trimmed to size as they come out of the machine.
